Who won the first presidential debate?
I am super interested in your thoughts on these questions. In your comments, please tell me 1. if you watched the debate, 2. who you think won the debate, 3. if you already know who you are going to vote for, and 4. how the debates influenced your intended vote.

Great questions, and interested to see what people say. I did watch the debate, I thought Kerry was much sharper, yes I do know who I'm voting for, and the debate did not influence me that much. Why? Because this debate was all about the War in Iraq. While important, I think the Iraq War has totally taken over this election. Why don't we talk more about the many other important issues our president has to deal with? I'm more concerned with gay marriage, abortion, stem cell research, social security reform and health care reform. These are issues that I think are very important too, and they weren't talked about in this debate.
I'll definitely be staying tuned for the future debates ...

Caroline,
It seems like you are implying that you can judge someone's moral and religious integrity based on their political vote. I hope I misinterpreted your statement. If not, shame on you. That would be a low blow indeed. Equating religiosity with political persuasion is 1) judgemental and 2) antagonistic to positive discussion and 3) inflamatory/accusatory. My original comment is not meant to imply that democrats are actually better Christians, but that there is actually good reason to avoid putting a blanket classification over one party as religiously superior.
